Instructor Overview:

Paul Ragsdale and Angelica De Alba are the husband-and-wife filmmaking team behind A & P Productions.

Paul was born in Patterson, California, and raised in Modesto. He started writing and shooting short horror films with his younger brother at 13. After graduating from Thomas Downey High School, he took film production classes at Modesto Junior College, where he met Angie.

Angelica De Alba was born in Patterson and raised in nearby Newman, California. A passionate movie lover from a young age, she grew up devouring films and developed a bold love for the iconic fashion, vibrant energy, and fearless style of 80s and 90s cinema — influences that now bring serious visual flair, cool costumes, and nostalgic vibes to every A & P film.

In 2010, the duo founded A & P Productions. Since then, they have written, directed, and produced seven feature films that blend high-energy action and chilling horror with deeply personal stories. Their work proudly explores Mexican American identity and culture, celebrates strong, empowered female protagonists who fight back and take charge, and pays loving homage to the wild energy, practical effects, synth-driven vibes, and over-the-top fun of classic 80s and 90s movies.

Passionate about nurturing the next generation of storytellers, Paul and Angelica are excited to share their hands-on experience and love of filmmaking within their community.
