Uncle Lonny Presents – California Zephyr

Everyone who’s anyone knows Uncle Lonny. In fact, he may be your favorite uncle too! So all the more reason to come and celebrate his birthday with live music and an evening of good times ~ Lonny-style featuring California Zephyr (Modesto Gold – 50th Anniversary). No need to bring presents but do plan to have a good time at this benefit for Hope Haven West, a nonprofit dedicated to providing mobility for disabled poor.

After five decades, seven albums, two busses, countless gigs and endless miles,

California Zephyr continues to build on a career of great songwriting, sterling harmony, virtuoso musicianship and infectious humor.

in 1975, former Modestan Alan Arnopole joined forces with three bay area musicians and took to the road celebrating America’s Music. They saw the world through the windows of their Greyhound bus. The endless prairies, burly mountains, diamond deserts and vast empty skies were indelibly stamped on their souls and etched in their music.

Sure, they’re versed in and can play the classics, but it’s from their imaginative songwriters, tackling an impressive array of styles from country, folk, Cajun, rock, ragtime, bluegrass, and blues, that the band really soars,
