Are you a writer, director, actor, or editor who dreams of seeing their work on the big screen? Professionals, amateurs, and hobbyists – this is the experience you’ve been waiting for.
The State Theatre of Modesto is proud to bring you the 48 Hour Film Competition!
From March 1st to March 3rd, filmmakers of all ages will experience a weekend-long rush as they race against the clock to write, film, and edit their 5 minute films. The tough part is- you don’t know your film genre until the timer starts ticking! The top 16 films will premiere at the Grand Finale event at the State Theatre on Friday March 8th.
Here’s what you need to do to get started: start recruiting your team, grab your camera or phone, and pre-register at retoldproductions.com/48hour. During the build up to the launch of the competition, gather all your resources, scout locations, and prep yourself for an intense 48 hours.
Each crew, regardless of size, must pay a $20 entrance fee at the Launch Day event at the State Theatre on March 1st from 6pm. At the Launch event you’ll get a packet that includes a required line you must use in your film, a required prop, and genre. That’s when you’ll write, shoot, edit, and turn in the film at the Collection Day event at the State Theatre on March 3rd at 6pm.
There’s no time to waste! Pre-Register now at retoldproductions.com/48hour and clear your schedule for March 1st – 3rd. We’ll see you on set!
