Uncle Lonny’s Birthday Bash: Featuring Home Grown

Synopsis

In May of 1973 Michael Lingg, Bruce Johnson, and Patrick Durr got together “to play a little music for the summer.” By mid-June they were performing at the popular Vintage Restaurant in downtown Modesto, a venue that encouraged acoustic “wooden” music. Shortly thereafter Michael, Bruce, and Patrick were playing the “steak house circuit” in the Bay Area. Soon special events and celebrations throughout the Valley, Foothills, and Bay Area were included in their annual calendar. Fifty years later the Home Grown trio is still focused on acoustic instruments, tight harmonies, and enjoying the music of various decades and styles. Their original songs reflect the energy and positive attitudes that have transformed the three friends into three musical brothers.

Home Grown has performed in intimate clubs, large outdoor concerts, and international venues. The Home Grown song “You Can Fly” was the soundtrack for the grand prize winning City Video sponsored by the Arts & Entertainment Network. Their most recent recording, Home Grown, Our Own, is a collection of all-original material from throughout their history. Previously released material has been revised, with new musicians added. Unreleased songs are part of the collection and include some very talented musicians and friends. The latest album was co-produced by Home Grown and Don Setaro of IAC Records.

Other Home Grown albums include Even Better In Person, a live-performance recording; Home Grown Reunion, a collection of original compositions and cover songs; A Home Grown Christmas, secular and sacred Holiday favorites; and Home Grown, a remaster of their original 1976 vinyl release. Home Grown recordings are available at all the popular digital stores and physical CDs may be purchased through Amazon.
