Join us on this family-friendly weekend as we investigate and celebrate the life, works, and legacy of America’s own literary giant, Edgar Allan Poe. And just maybe, we’ll solve a mystery or two along the way!

After each morning’s PoeCon sessions enjoy lunch on your own in pedestrian-friendly downtown Modesto. Then return to the State Theatre for a thrilling double-bill of Poe’s most celebrated works brought to life on the opera stage:
Opera Modesto’s Story Into Song Literacy Initiative Presents The Tell Tale Heart by Stewart Copeland and the world premiere of Annabel (an opera inspired by the poem Annabel Lee) by Deborah Kavasch and Linda Bunney-Sarhad.
