Modesto Confidential Returns to the State Theatre… For one exclusive afternoon, the lights dim and the secrets come out…

Go beyond the crime scene tape and hear directly from the detectives who worked the cases. Like a live true-crime series, investigators will pull back the curtain and reveal the shocking details, pivotal evidence, dead ends, and breakthrough moments that led to justice. This year, audiences will step inside two separate homicide investigations, each more gripping than the last.

Before the investigations unfold, guests are invited to enjoy a curated selection of specialty drinks and appetizers from some of Modesto’s favorite local vendors, complimentary to all ticketholders.

Presentation One — The Murder of Diasia Seese

A normal morning at the Best Western suddenly turns into a homicide scene after hotel staff report water flooding into a first-floor room. Behind the door of Room 235, detectives uncover a horrifying scene: a young woman murdered, wrapped in sheets, and hidden inside a bathtub overflowing with water.

As investigators race to identify the killer, the trail stretches far beyond Modesto — leading detectives to the levees of the Stockton Delta.

Presentation Two — The Garrison Park Murder

An ordinary evening at Garrison Park suddenly turns violent when 63-year-old Jace Decker is viciously assaulted in an attack that leaves him fighting for his life. Rushed to emergency medical care, Decker battles to survive for 11 days before ultimately succumbing to his injuries.

What followed was a relentless pursuit of justice driven by determination, technology, and old-fashioned investigative work. Using valuable city surveillance cameras and extensive social media records, investigators painstakingly reconstructed the movements of the assailants — slowly uncovering the truth piece by piece.
