Host:
Gabe Alexander:
Gabriel Alexander demanded immediate recognition almost as soon as he pulled the mic from the stand. He stormed onto the Northern California scene with both quick wit and a style of comedy that’s true to who he is. He’s already performing at major clubs, including The World Famous Comedy Store, but he’s also a regular at his hometown club, Laughs Unlimited, in Sacramento, CA. He’s also hosting various open mics and cutting his teeth as a producer with the Broken House comedy show. Make sure to watch Gabriel as an up-and-coming comedian, as he is as funny as he is hungry.
Featuring Comedians:
Karen Fregozo:
She’s the Northern California wild child who grew up to become a fearless joksters that leaves a lasting impact on the world of stand-up comedy every time she touches a mic. Her often dark but witty sense of humor has made her a crowd favorite in the NorCal comedy scene and a highly respected colleague among her comedic peers. Young, passionate, and incredibly hilarious, Fregozo is a rising star that fans will be happy they paid their price of admission to watch.
Sydney Stigerts:
With her blonde pompadour and blunt sarcasm, Sydney Stigerts established herself in the Sacramento, CA comedy scene at a young age. She delights in skewering her millennial peers almost as much as she likes mocking her queer community. On stage, she is high energy, relatable, and would love to tell you a story. As a member of the group 1° of Separation: A Funny Look at Depression, she has performed at colleges and comedy clubs from South Dakota to California. With three other members of 1° of Separation, she was the subject of the documentary Dying to Laugh. Her crowd work and wit on stage quickly made her a viral sensation leading to her first independent co-headlining tour — The Hot & Funny tour. She is a regular opener for Jared Freid and has also opened for Cameron Esposito, Sophie Buddle, Bob the Drag Queen, and Jinkx Monsoon. She’s performed in the San Diego Comedy Festival, The Laughed Out Queer Comedy Festival in Las Vegas, the San Francisco Comedy Competition, and won the Best of Fest award at The Big Pine Festival in Phoenix. She was also a nominee at the Laugh After Dark Comedy Fest in Las Vegas.
Johnny Taylor:
American stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and podcaster from Sacramento, California. Taylor has released two comedy albums and a charity single on Stand Up! Records. His debut, 2014’s Tangled Up in Plaid, reached No. 7 on the iTunes comedy chart. His 2018 followup album and video Bummin’ with the Devil reached No. 1 on both the Amazon and iTunes comedy charts. Taylor considers himself a “storyteller comic”, and much of his material is drawn from his own life. He has toured across the U.S. and Canada, and is a regular on the comedy festival circuit, performing at San Francisco Sketchfest, the New Orleans Hell Yes Fest, the Asheville Comedy Festival, Altercation Fest, the Sacramento Comedy Festival, and the Chico Comedy Festival. He tours frequently with Brian Posehn.
Headliner of the Evening:
Steven Briggs:
Steven Briggs has a unique, high-energy style of comedy that keeps his audiences on their toes. His amusing anecdotes are enhanced by his use of sound effects, act outs and characters. Steven has appeared on Netflix, MTV, Hulu, TruTV and HBO. You have also seen him in commercials for ESPN, Dodge Ram, Toyota, Google, Oscar Mayer, Mountain Dew and Call of Duty. Steven’s debut comedy album can regularly be heard on Sirius XM Radio. When Steven is not entertaining audiences across the US, he is headlining overseas for our troops in Egypt, kuwait, Iraq, Italy and many more.p>
