Synopsis
The United Black Student Union of the Central Region and The State Theatre present the first annual Westside Spelling Bee Competition.
The purpose of this event is to promote literacy by providing children with a positive goal to work toward and give them a forum to display the fruits of their hard work during the academic school year. THE UBSUC Central region understands that a lot of our minority children live on the westside. Most of the time the children in that area are often forgotten about or put last. We want to recognize those students by providing an event where not only the student can succeed but the family as well.
Are you interested in participating in our Westside Spelling Bee? Do you have what it takes to win the 1000-dollar Grand Prize? Sign up for the UBSUC Westside Elementary School Spelling Bee. You must attend the following elementary schools on the registration form and must be in the 4th or 5th grade. If we have a lot of participants we will have a pre-spelling bee before the big event on Saturday, May 20th.
Doors open at 1:30 PM, Competition Begins at 2:00PM
