From the small town that brought you George Lucas and American Graffiti comes the coolest stand-up comedy show of the summer: American Laughiti: Modesto’s Annual Comedy Competition, featuring a $5000 Grand Prize and a $1500 Audience Choice Award!
The comedy starts online! Comedians are encouraged to submit a video of themselves performing a stand-up set no longer than 10 minutes by May 26th.
During the month of June, voters will vote for their favorite comedians and the *Top 8 acts will perform live at the State Theatre on Saturday, July 22, 2023, 7:30pm (10-12 minute sets per comedian.)
*Four (4) comedians will be selected based solely on vote count and the additional four (4) comedians will be selected by the State Theatre regardless of vote count.
At the live show, $5000 Grand Prize will be awarded based on a panel of judges and a $1500 Audience Choice Award will be awarded based on in-person voting.
