Rooted in Peace

Thurs. Sept. 21

(NR) 1 Hr. 37 Min. (Digital) In English (Documentary)

Sundance Film Festival alum and award-winning director Greg Reitman’s new film ~ Rooted In Peace ~ is being shown at The State on Sept. 21, in honor of the International Day of Peace.  Through interviews with some of the world’s most intriguing thought leaders, Rooted In Peace challenges viewers to examine their values as Americans and human beings. Today we are at war within ourselves, with our environment, and with the world. Reitman takes us on film journey that encourages us to take notice, stop the cycle of violence, and proactively seek ways to find personal and geopolitical balance. Relying on memoir but also interviews with such luminaries and activists as Deepak Chopra, music legends Donovan, Mike Love and Pete Seeger, film director David Lynch, Nobel Peace Laureate Mairead Maguire, Ted Turner, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, neuroscientist Dan Seigel and many others, Reitman heeds former guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's words: "If the forest is to be green, every tree must be green, if there's going to be Peace on earth then everybody must need to feel that quality of Peace."
