Polina
Polina (Danser sa vie)

(NR) 1 Hr. 56 Min. In French with English subtitles (Art House & International, Drama)

In this thrilling coming-of-age story, a rigorously trained and talented young dancer is determined to find her voice in a cutthroat world.  Polina (played by Anastasia Shevtsova, a professional dancer who has performed with Saint Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre) is a promising classical ballet dancer about to join the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet when she discovers contemporary dance, a revelation that throws everything into question on a profound level. Diverting from her plan, she leaves all her exacting preparation behind and moves to France to work with famous choreographer Liria Elsaj (played by French Academy Award-winner Juliette Binoche who has danced with London-based dancer/choreographer Akram Khan). But once there she is quickly forced to grapple with the realization that determination and hard work don't always lead to success.

Trip to Spain

(NR) 1 Hr. 55 Min. (Digital) In English (Art House & International, Comedy)

Fri. 9/8 - Thurs. 9/21

After jaunts through northern England and Italy, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon embark on another deliciously deadpan culinary road trip. This time around, the guys head to Spain to sample the best of the country's gastronomic offerings in between rounds of their hilariously off-the-cuff banter. Over plates of pintxos and paella, the pair exchange barbs and their patented celebrity impressions, as well as more serious reflections on what it means to settle into middle age. As always, the localesare breathtaking, the cuisine to die for, and the humor delightfully devilish.

On Tues., Sept. 19, the meditation will be guided by long-time meditator Holly Neubuerger who was initiated to the spiritual path by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (www.artofliving.org) in 1995, and continues to study with His Holiness both domestically and abroad, traveling to India for courses in deep meditation, self-knowledge, non-violence, love and service, taking instruction directly from the Master. As an Organizer, Facilitator, Mentor, and Volunteer for the Art of Living Foundation, she shares the depth of knowledge with sincere seekers.  The effect of her spiritual practice and pursuits is expressed in her role as Artist-in-Residence and owner of Beads of Contentment - Soul Beads in Downtown Modesto. Tim Lechuga, a singer songwriter who has played on international stages over the past 40 years will accompany the meditation on singing bowls.
